Published 3 years agoTravelers to Gotherburg airport welcomed by new D*Face masterpiece

For its 400th anniversary, Gotherburg (Sweden) has commissioned a mega mural by by british artist D*Face on the main entrance of the Landvetter Airport.
The artwork, entitled "Embrace for landing", features what seems to be a pilot and his lover looking out for something imminent.

D*Face has become an iconic name in street art with his unique pop and punk-inspired style.
The wall was commission buy Artscape, an organisation that is trying to set-up, alongside authorities and the communities of Sweden a unique Street-art trail, set to open in 2022 and showcasing a number of renoweed international artists.



"With this mural I wanted to incorporate the architecture of the building (...) for the mural to appear not as ‘paint on a surface’ but as a considered part of the building itself, as if it had existed all along.."
